"Soup" takes us into the microcosm – a parallel world with its own beings, laws and possibilities. Here, we observe the impact of plastics and microorganisms. Inspired by the bacteria Ideonella sakaiensis, this Sci-fi short film deals with a new ingredient in the soup of life: microplastics.
Soup is my graduation film from the School of Art & Design Kassel.
It was shown at 17 Film Festivals all over the world and took part in the Talent Forum Showroom of the B3 Biennial of the Moving Image 2022, the 115th Annual Meeting of the German Zoological Society 2023 and "Kunst[Leerstelle]Raum" at Kunst Raum Sauerland in the Bredelar Monastery, 2023.
It was one of the opening films at the 38th Kasseler Dokfest and has been nominated for the "Goldener Herkules", 2021.
